Sale of AGS Business to Klasmann-Deilmann
We are delighted to announce that Germany based Klasmann-Deilmann GmbH has signed an agreement to acquire Australian Growing Solutions Pty Ltd (“AGS”) on July 31st, 2021.
Both companies have held a strong business relationship for many years, which resulted in the recent commissioning of Australia’s first GrowFibre™ production plant at Tyabb, using Klasmann-Deilmann’s proprietary technology. Klasmann-Deilmann is committed to an international and sustainable growth path in the field of growing media and renewable raw materials, to which the acquisition of AGS provides an excellent strategic fit. This is great news for the Australian plant-growing market as Klasmann-Deilmann intends to invest in the business along the lines that current shareholders were contemplating and envisions that AGS will become an even stronger business firmly rooted in the Australian horticulture industry.
Our valued customers and partners should see nothing but positive change. AGS will continue to manufacture and supply products under the AGS brand. At the same time, our business will retain its manufacturing site and Head Office at Tyabb in Victoria, and the new site at South Windsor in NSW. Both sites will continue to produce and supply high quality bulk media products as they did prior to the sale, with no changes to ingredients, processes, equipment, management, or staff. Klasmann-Deilmann, too, will continue to sell their growing media and innovative growing systems to growers in Australia.
